Un-pair it from Apple Watch

If you have an Apple Watch, you have probably paired it with your iPhone and now is the time to un-pair it. In order to do so, you will have to go to the Watch app on your device while keeping the Watch nearby. Select the watch by going to the My Watch Tab. There will be an information icon that will give you the option of un-pairing. You may have to enter your Apple ID for confirmation. Your iPhone will make a backup of the Apple Watch in case you decide to pair it with your new iPhone.

Back up your iPhone

Obviously everyone wants their data to remain safe and backed up. The easiest way this can be done is by using iCloud that you can find in settings under Apple ID. Turn off iMessage and activation lock

After you have made a backup, you need to turn off iMessage in settings as well as turn off Find my iPhone.

Sign out of iTunes, App Store and iCloud

The next step is to clear out of your iCloud account as well as App Store and iTunes. You don’t want to provide the new buyer access to your account details by leaving them on the phone.

Restore your iPhone to factory settings

Once you have turned off everything and signed out of your accounts, you now need to erase your device completely. This means restoring the device to the factory settings it came with. This option is also available in the Settings option under General. You will have to enter your Apple ID and passcode before the device deletes everything.
